The PLDroid app

The PLDroid app requests the Camera permission. The camera is used for barcode scanning. Images are not sent to us — images are processed inside the app, and only barcodes are detected from the images and converted to numbers and letters.

The only data sent to us is the license code and device id, which we use for activating the license. This is not applicable when using licensing provided by Google Play.

Visitor analytics

We use lightweight visitor analytics on our website to improve the service. The tracking is fully anonymous. No personal data is stored.

What we collect

  • Page views — which pages are popular
  • Referrer — where visitors come from (e.g. a search engine)
  • Country — location is derived from the IP address, after which the IP address is stored fully anonymized
  • Device type — mobile, tablet or desktop
  • Browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc.

What we do not collect

  • IP addresses are stored only in anonymized form (for deriving the geographic location)
  • Cookies are not used for tracking
  • No personal identification takes place
  • Data is not shared with third parties

Contact form

When you submit the contact form, we collect the following information:

  • Your name, email address and the content of your message
  • The phone number and company name you may have provided

Use of the data

We use your information solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not use the data for marketing and do not disclose it to third parties.

Data retention

We retain contact requests for as long as is necessary for business purposes.

Cookies

Our website does not use tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel or other third-party tracking tools.

The site may use technically necessary cookies to implement functionality, but these do not track your behavior across websites.

Sub-processor

The technical implementation and maintenance of the website is handled by Kontakto Oy (business ID: 2831767-5), which acts as a sub-processor of personal data. Kontakto Oy processes data on behalf of the data controller for site maintenance, visitor analytics and forwarding contact requests. Data is processed within the EU/EEA.

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data
  • Request rectification or erasure of your data
  • Object to the processing of your data
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority
